Helping our community fly! Applications open for Ports of Jersey’s Community and Sustainability Partnerships

Published: 19 May 2026

Ports of Jersey is delighted to announce that applications are now open for its Community and Sustainability Partnership Programme, inviting local charities, not-for-profit organisations and individuals to apply for funding and long-term partnership support.

The programme offers partnerships of up to three years, with no fixed funding limit. Previous partnerships have typically been in the region of £3,000–£5,000, supporting initiatives that make a meaningful environmental, social and economic contribution to life in Jersey.

Through the programme, Ports of Jersey works closely with organisations whose projects align with its Planet and People Plan and wider strategic priorities. Together, these partnerships help to strengthen communities, protect the natural environment and celebrate Jersey’s unique culture and heritage.

Sophie Alexander, Head of Sustainability and Community Value says, “At Ports of Jersey, we have a responsibility that goes beyond operating our airport and harbours – we are part of the fabric of Island life. Over the last three years, our Community Partnership programme has been hugely successful, working alongside 16 local charities and not‑for‑profit organisations who are making a real difference in our community. These partnerships show the value of long‑term collaboration, not just financial support, and reinforce how important it is for Ports to play an active role in supporting local people, strengthening our communities and protecting the environment for future generations.”

Funding is available for a wide range of projects, including those supporting children and young people, vulnerable communities, education, inclusivity, environmental protection, biodiversity and circular economy initiatives. Ports of Jersey is also keen to support projects linked to the Island’s aviation and marine environments, as well as initiatives that help promote Jersey both locally and internationally.

Eveline Hawkin, Helping Wings Chairperson, said “Helping Wings partnership with Ports of Jersey has proved very valuable – the financial aspect has helped us provide flying to local residents who would otherwise never get the chance to reach their dream to fly. But our relationship is more than just financial as Ports of Jersey gives us their constant support for all our activities – for our yearly events, flying awards and help in bringing Aerobility over from the UK allowing those with a lower limb disability to fly at the control of a specially adapted aircraft.

“We owe Ports of Jersey” tremendous thanks on behalf of all those who have seen their dream come true.”

Beyond financial support, Ports of Jersey is passionate about building active, hands-on partnerships. Successful projects may also benefit from employee volunteering, fundraising support, staff engagement opportunities, sustainability initiatives and other collaborative activities.

Applicants will be asked to demonstrate clear objectives and measurable impact, with partnerships reviewed annually to ensure shared goals are being achieved.

The programme is open to Jersey‑based registered charities, not‑for‑profit organisations and individuals. All applications must be submitted via the online application process.
