More than 150 years of experience
From Port of Jersey
10th February 2025
Jersey Airport has strengthened its operational leadership team by bringing in more than 150 years of additional aviation experience, ready to tackle the ambitious priorities highlighted in the Government’s Ports Policy document which was published in January 2024.
These priorities include:
- Enhanced air connectivity
- Investment in critical infrastructure at the airport and harbour
- Greater supply chain resilience
- Transformation of customer experience at the airport
- Decarbonisation of operations (in line with Government’s decarbonisation roadmap)
The new arrivals bring with them an impressive line-up of industry experience from international airports, both large and small, from airlines, NATS, the Royal Navy, aviation regulation, security, and air traffic control. Their strong industry background will support the planned growth in connectivity, and the significant investment in critical infrastructure which will enhance the experience of travelling through Jersey Airport.
The operational team is working closely with the Office of the Director of Civil Aviation, who will provide additional regulatory oversight as the new employees integrate into their roles.
Airport Operations Director, Ashley Maggs, said: “It’s an exciting time to welcome these colleagues to their new roles at the airport and we are looking forward to working together to raise the bar and enable faster, easier and friendlier travel for our passengers, underpinned by safe and compliant operations across regulated areas like security and air navigation services.
“We’ll be building on a successful 2024, which saw continued growth in passenger volumes and a new Assisted Travel service which supported 26,000 people through the airport. We are getting closer to redeveloping the Departure Hall in the autumn, and there are encouraging developments in European air connectivity, where we will have direct access to more than 15 European destinations in 2025.
“As we build on these firm foundations, safe and secure operations remain the top priority of our operations team, and we appreciate the important role of the Director of Civil Aviation as these management changes bed in.”
