KLM launches Jersey – Amsterdam service

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has now launched its Jersey – Amsterdam service.

The flights are operated weekly on Saturdays by KLM Cityhopper and will increase during the peak summer season, with daily flights between July and August.

The new route gives Jersey residents direct access to the Netherlands and onward connections via KLM’s hub in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.  While the number one destination is undoubtedly Amsterdam, first booking data shows demand for destinations across Europe including Poland, Croatia and Greece. Long haul bookings span from Manilla to Buenos Aires.

The new service is also attracting visitors to the island from across Europe, particularly the Netherlands, Germany, Norway and Austria. From further afield, demand originates from different provinces of Canada and various U.S. states.

Jerome Salemi, Air France-KLM General Manager (UK, Jersey and Ireland), said:
“We are delighted to help connect Jersey islanders to Amsterdam and the world, be it for holidays, business trips or to visit friends and relatives. What’s more, our latest agreement with Loganair enables us to offer additional connectivity between Jersey and Amsterdam via Southampton and Bristol.”

Matt Thomas, Chief Executive of Ports of Jersey, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome KLM to Jersey. The new Amsterdam service strengthens opportunities for our island, providing our community with more freedom and more flexibility to connect with destinations across the world on KLM’s global network, while also supporting business travel and our visitor economy. It’s a great boost for Jersey, and we couldn’t be more excited to see these flights take to the skies.”
