Jersey Airport ready to welcome passengers this summer as Departure Lounge transformation continues

Published: 01 July 2026

Ahead of the busy summer getaway, Jersey Airport is ready to welcome passengers with a series of carefully planned temporary arrangements to ensure a smooth journey while the Departure Lounge transformation project continues.

To support passengers during this period, the airport has introduced a revised layout with new seating areas. Travellers can continue to enjoy the family zone, improved assisted travel facilities, and a range of food, drink and retail options, including Café Ubé, the airport bar and World Duty Free. All changes have been designed to balance comfort and convenience while construction progresses.

Work continues on the next phases of the Departure Lounge, and the next major phase to open in October will include a modern seating area, a Martello Tower–inspired lift to a new mezzanine level with runway views, expanded retail offering, and a redesigned family area.

The design captures the spirit of Jersey, combining natural tones, softer lighting and textures inspired by the island’s coastline, countryside and architecture to create a strong sense of place. This approach has been shaped in collaboration with the local community, including the Chamber of Commerce, Brighter Futures, Visit Jersey, Durrell, the National Trust for Jersey and ArtHouse Jersey. The Jersey theme is further brought to life through a series of distinctive installations by local artists, including embedded aerial photography, ceramic skylarks and woven wicker cows – all contributing to a unique and authentic sense of place for passengers.

Dale Reeson, newly appointed Managing Director of Jersey Airport, said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining Jersey Airport, as we progress such a significant transformation project. With the busy summer season approaching, my focus is on making sure every passenger feels welcomed and enjoys a smooth, comfortable start to their journey. These temporary arrangements have been carefully planned so people can travel with ease, while we continue investing in the future of the airport.”

The final phase will see the opening of the new restaurant and bar, The Shoreline, which is expected to welcome passengers from summer 2027.
