Jersey Airport is gearing up for a week of busy half-term travel and is reminding anyone planning to park at the airport while they are away that they need to pre-book parking online to access promotional rates. Passengers who turn up to park without booking online will be charged at the standard rate of £1 per hour.
The restriction on carrying liquids of more than 100ml in hand luggage remains in place, but there is no longer any need to remove the liquids from hand baggage. There is also a continuing government ban on bringing meat or dairy products from the EU into Jersey for personal use.
Half term travel
The airport is expecting more than 9,000 departing passengers over the first weekend of half term (23 – 26 May) with more than 42,000 arriving and departing passengers throughout the week (23 May – 1 June).
There are also scheduled and charter flights to European destinations such as Palma, Vienna, Rotterdam, Munich, Paris, Faro, Zurich and Ibiza.
With many departing within minutes of each other, passengers are advised to leave plenty of time to check in their hold luggage and clear Security. There may be queues at busy times, but Ports of Jersey teams will ensure that everyone gets to their flights as quickly as possible.
Airport websites will provide information on their own security rules, but the general advice is to follow instructions given by airport staff when going through Security.
