DFDS will be conducting berthing trials in St Helier Harbour this week. The Stena Vinga, which will primarily operate the evening passenger and freight service to and from Portsmouth, will be here on 18, 19 and 20 March.
Jersey’s Harbour Master, Captain Bill Sadler, said: “These berthing trials are an essential part of ensuring that the Stena Vinga can dock safely and efficiently in Elizabeth Harbour. The trial will also allow the crew to become familiar with the harbour’s layout and operations. We have been working closely with DFDS to mobilise the new service and I’m looking forward to seeing it in operation.”
As DFDS prepares for the official start of their service on 28 March, berthing trials will be crucial in guaranteeing that their vessels can operate effectively in St Helier Harbour, providing an efficient service for both passengers and freight.
The Stena Vinga is due into Elizabeth Harbour at approximately 08:30 tomorrow morning.
