Ports of Jersey has welcomed three new members to its senior management team.

Steve Hoesli has taken up the role of Chief Development Officer and he will be leading the implementation of the two major investment programmes at the Harbour and Airport. He was previously Director of Transportation at Mott MacDonald, where he led a team of 450 people delivering projects throughout Europe in the Aviation, Maritime, Rail and Highways sectors.  He has also delivered projects for the UK Ministry of Defence and the Department for Transport.

Steve said: “I have a passion for supporting people, teams and organisations to improve performance. By encouraging clear thinking and reflection, I hope I can enable people to fulfil their potential.”

Stephen King is the new Chief Operating Officer and his focus will be on bringing Ports of Jersey’s customer, commercial and operational teams together, and on continuing to improve customer experience. He said: “The Harbour and Airport are such key lifelines for the Island, we have a really important role in keeping people travelling and supplies flowing smoothly. We’re custodians of key infrastructure, which nearly everyone on the Island uses, and we take that responsibility seriously.”

Stephen’s previous role was with VINCI Airports as Chief Commercial Officer for Cambodia’s three airports. Before that, he worked for five years at London Gatwick in Aviation Development. He’s also worked in the maritime and logistics sectors and spent more than a decade at Virgin Atlantic Airways, with leadership roles in the UK, India and Hong Kong.

Following the retirement of Robin MacRae, Ashley Maggs has been promoted to Airport Operations Director. Ashley joined Ports of Jersey in 2014 and was appointed Deputy Airport Director in 2022 as a succession role for future leadership.
