King’s Coronation Medals

13 Coastguard officers have received the King’s Coronation Medal, and eligible members of the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service are due to receive their medals later this year.
The Coronation Medal is being given to frontline members of the emergency services who had completed five years’ continued service by the date of the Coronation (6 May 2023). This is in addition to people who actively contributed to the Coronation itself.

The Harbour Master is the Chief Coastguard, and Assistant Harbour Masters are Coastguard Search Mission co-ordinators – all are part of the coastguard team and integral to the operation.
