From Port of Jersey
25th March 2024
Brittany Ferries is scheduled to undertake a berthing trial in Jersey with one of its ferries tomorrow (Tuesday 26 March).
The vessel, Barfleur, is 157m long. This compares to the Finlandia Seaways which is 162m long. The Condor Islander is 125m long, the Commodore Goodwill is 126m and the Commodore Clipper is 129m long.
Brittany Ferries is a shareholder of Condor Ferries Ltd and is undertaking the trial as part of its own business continuity plans.
The trial is scheduled to start after the Condor Islander has departed at 8am tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. The Barfleur’s arrival will be supported by two tugs to ensure its safe entry into the port.
Two Ports of Jersey pilots will board the Barfleur to supplement the bridge team onboard, and to provide the required local knowledge.
