As Chief of Staff, Darren is responsible for further developing Ports of Jersey’s relationship with the Government of Jersey and other key stakeholders, oversight and development of strategic business initiatives, and will support the Group Chief Executive Officer and Board, to ensure the organisation runs effectively across the various operations.
Group Chief Executive Officer, Matt Thomas, said: “This is a key role, and, with 10 years’ experience in public service in Jersey, Darren will add strength to the Executive Team as we work to play our part in Jersey’s post-COVID-19 economic recovery.
“Darren brings valuable expertise, strategic thinking and a proven track record of leading complex projects, which will support our efforts to ensure a sustainable future for Ports of Jersey and our place at the centre of Island life.”
Darren Scott added: “I am excited to join Ports of Jersey at this pivotal point as we work collaboratively to strengthen Jersey’s position post-pandemic. I am looking forward to working with all stakeholders to continue to improve the positive role Ports of Jersey plays in our community”.
In a further appointment to the Executive Team, Jenny Marek-Murray, who started working at Jersey Harbours in 2007, has taken up the role of Director of Corporate Services, responsible for governance as well as information security and internal audit. Alongside her existing role as Company Secretary for the Ports of Jersey Board, Jenny is also leading on the development and implementation of the Ports sustainability strategy.
