A large offshore support vessel, which has been commissioned by Ports of Jersey to conduct a detailed survey of the site where the Commodore Goodwill and L’Ecume II collided, is due to arrive off Jersey’s west coast tomorrow (Sunday 11 December) at approximately 6am.

The vessel will use an underwater robot to conduct a detailed search of the collision site and surrounding area, which will inform the next stage of the recovery operation. She will be met by Ports of Jersey’s pilot boat and officials will remain with the offshore support vessel throughout the operation.

A maritime exclusion zone is in place for the area, and islanders are urged to respect this so the vessel’s crew can complete their work unimpeded.
