Guide to visiting St Helier – super yachts and training vessels

Pilotage

Pilotage is undertaken by Jersey Harbours and charges are detailed in the Harbour Tariffs 2023, unless otherwise stated.

Pilotage is compulsory for all vessels 35 metres and over in length, or if carrying 13 or more passengers. Sailing vessels with a bow sprit are calculated using their waterline length.

Berths

All berths detailed below are Commercial Berths and subject to ISPS compliance.

New North Quay Depth 5.2m BCD Length 158m Quay height ACD 13.0m
Victoria Pier – East Cross Depth 2.2m BCD Length 73m Quay height ACD 13.0m

Please note, shore access is via landing stages built into the Quay. Sailing vessels should consider yard height at LW and any possible conflicts with the Quay height.

No 1: St Aubin’s Bay – sand Max draft 5.0m Max length 140m
No 2: St Aubin’s Bay South – sand Max draft 5.5m Max length 185m
No 3: West of Ruaudiere buoy – sand Max draft 6.0m Max length 200m
No 4: St Brelade’s Bay (pilotage waiting anchorage) – gravel and sand Max draft 13.0m Max length – unlimited
No5: South of Demie de Pas Light – 14m – rock and sand Max draft 12.0m Max length – unlimited

Waste : Euro bins and recycling points are available on the quay

Fenders :  Yokohama fenders are available and provided by the Marine Operations Section of Jersey Harbours

Linesmen : Vessels must arrange for approved line handlers to facilitate their arrival/departure; self-mooring is only permitted with the approval of the Harbour Master following assurance that a risk assessment, briefings and appropriate PPE are in place.

Work boats are supplied by Jersey Harbours and charged as detailed in the Harbour Tariffs 2023 unless otherwise stated.

Work boat : Halycon – 8m open work boat (0.9 ton bollard pull)

Tug : (subject to availability) Duke of Normandy – 28m Damen Shoalbuster (28 ton bollard pull)
