Jersey Marinas launches 2018 online boat owners survey
From Jersey Marinas,
22 February 2018
Just weeks after regaining its prestigious 5 Gold Anchor status for the standards of its facilities and services, Jersey Marinas has launched its annual satisfaction survey among local boat owners.
The 28-question survey, which is distributed online to every locally registered boat owner, was first launched in 2014 and since then response levels have continued to increase. For example, in 2017 in excess of 400 completed surveys were received. As a direct result of feedback and comments, a number of positive changes and enhancements to the services and facilities it provides have been made by Jersey Marinas. These include:
- Clearer signage in and around the marinas, which is more friendly and welcoming, including an increase in the level of information available to French visitors;
- Daily key code entry onto the pontoons allowing customer greater ease to access facilities;
- Overnight access to toilet and shower facilities, especially useful for customer arriving late evening and/or departing early morning;
- Increase in staff presence on and around the marina pontoons and dories to assist customers in berthing their boats.
One of the most successful initiatives undertaken as a direct result of customer feedback in the decision by Jersey Marinas to participate in the successful Passeport Escales scheme in 2017. This agreement allows annual berth holders the opportunity to receive up to ten free nights per year in more than 122 European ports, a significant proportion of which are along our neighbouring French coast. Local subscription to the scheme was so positive, with approximately 150 local berth holders registered, that Jersey Marinas is once again participating in 2018.
Group Leisure Manager for Ports of Jersey, Mike Tait, who has responsibility for managing the three marinas says, "2018 has got off to a very positive start for the team at Jersey Marinas. Not only have we managed to retain our prestigious 5 Gold Anchor status awarded by The Yacht Harbour Association for the 13th consecutive year but St Helier Marina has also been voted as '2018 Best Coastal Marina in the British Isles'. This is very special as it is voted for by our customers and those visitors who have used the marina in 2017 so to achieve their endorsement makes the award that little bit extra special".
Commenting on the objectives for the Customer Satisfaction Survey, Mr Tait continues, "Our customers are invaluable to our business and its continuing success; therefore, their feedback is vitally important to us. While it isn't always possible to resolve every issue raised I believe we've demonstrated over the past four years that we do listen to their feedback and wherever possible, address the issue and find a solution to enhance their overall experience with us. The team at Jersey Marinas pride themselves on their level of professionalism and dedication to what we do and I am hopeful the feedback we receive over the coming weeks will be testament to this".
The online survey closes at 5pm on Friday 16 March 2018 and the results will be posted online in spring 2018.
