A free and confidential service is being offered by Jersey Coastguard in conjunction with the RNLI to anyone who may have concerns over the safety aspects of their water craft.

The 'Advice on Board' programme is available to anyone who uses a vessel for leisure purposes, including sailing and motor boats, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards and jet skis.

The service is being provided by officers from Jersey Coastguard who have received specific training in order to reach more of the sailing community. Senior Marine Officer Jamie Dollimore explains, "The visit involves an open discussion on how to use and maintain safety equipment as well as planning for things that could go wrong at sea. It also gives the opportunity to ask any questions on equipment or emergency procedures."

Anyone who wishes to arrange an 'Advice on Board' appointment, should email or telephone (01534) 447705.
