Dangerous vessels and cargoes

All commercial vessels entering Jersey’s ports and passing through Island waters have to comply with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) set out by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

The IMDG Code deals with the carriage of all goods by sea whether in packaged form or in bulk and defines those that that are prohibited by international law.

Jersey has specific requirements as listed in Shipping (Jersey) Law 2002.
