Elizabeth Castle causeway

The causeway to the Elizabeth Castle covers on an incoming tide extremely quickly. If you are unsure about the tide and conditions, don’t take the risk! The distance between the castle and shore at West Park is around 1.1km, so allow at least 15 minutes to cross the causeway.

If you get cut off

Don’t panic and put yourself at risk. Jersey Heritage operate the Castle Ferry service when the Castle is open to the public. If you get cut off by the tide at the castle, please use the Castle Ferry service that will take you back to West Park. If the castle is not open to the public or the Castle Ferry service is not running, contact Jersey Coastguard on +44 (0) 1534 447705.
